Note* Per Gene McKinney's recollection (their nephew): Harold's boy, Jerry, was not adopted per Buster. Jerry was in and out of jail. Gene had not seen him since Harold's family left for California. Jerry was about 6, around Gene's age. Jerry was closet to age to Gene than anyone. Jerry was Juanita's brother's or sister's son. They raised him. Jerry had some kids and Harold and Juanita raised them too according to Buster., Principal=Robert Harold McKinney1

Notecirca 1936 Per Gene McKinney's recollection (their nephew): Harold's family (Harold, Juanita, and Jerry the child they raised) took off for California in 1936 or 38 in Grapes of Wrath fashion.
