| Note* | | He/She would be one of the children of Samuel Denny/Sarah Suddarth(Southard) of Surry County, NC. The known siblings of this person thathad families and of which I have prepared GEDCOMS at various Web Sitesare Azariah Denny/Sally Wise Felton, William Denny/Rebecca Hooper, JohnDenny/Elizabeth UNK, Charles Denny/Anna Larwood, James Denny/EstherSmall, Elizabeth Denny/Priddy Meeks, Keziah Denney/John Robinson. Husband John Was A High Sheriff in 1831, he was also a Major in theMilitia. They settled in Grayson County, VA. Per William Denney, the 1830 Carroll County, VA census shows her husbandJohn as foreign born, thus the likely place being England. Per Art Denny, there was an estate property sale held for a John Robinsondated 1835 in Grayson County, VA. In the list of people who bought thingswas a Denny Robinson (son) and Sussannah Jennings. As proof thatKezia/Kerren was John Robinson's wife is the fact that in his will heleft his wife several slaves (Delila and child $358), (Henry $420 & Fanny$83). The November 1850 probate of Kerrin Robinson included 7 slavesincluding the above mentioned Delia, Henry and Fanny. Keziah's husbands last name may have been 'ROBERTSON', if so, alldescendents in these records would be Robertson. This is an area currentgenealogists are looking at. Keziah may have had the nickname KERRAN or CARRIE. Kerrin/Kerran/Kerrenis a shortened version of KERRENHAPPUCK who was the third daughter of Jobfrom the Book of Job in the Old Testament Keziah was shown as living with her son Andrew during the 1850 GraysonCounty, Va census. She was age 89 and born VA , was shown with the nameof KERRIN. John may also have married a Hannah?. Some of the listed children mayhave been from a second wife, this area needs resolved. A John Robinsonand Hannah were granted a certificate Dtd 30 Nov, 1811 to the Darby CreekMM, Ohio on Mar 28, 1812. Darby Creek was in present day Logan County,Ohio and Logan County came out of Champaign County in 1818 which is wherehis son John Jr supposedly moved to. His first wife Keziah was not listedin the probate dividing John Robinson's property after his death, she wasin the 1850 census living with her son, thus they may have divorced. Considerable data on this line was provided by Nancy Phillips, sheintends to one day write a book on Jesse Robinson. My thanks to Nancy forher valuable inputADDITIONAL DATA ON CHILDREN Daughter Sarah buried Fountain Head, Sumner County, TN (Dyer Cemetery). A Joseph Robinson appears in the 1820 Gallia County, Ohio census, age26-44. It could be this Joseph.2 |
