The last name of her husband may be spelled HAYS per Judy McMichael'sreport, instead of HAYES as provided by William Denney. This may asituation of the same a with Denny/Denney, over a period of time the namewas changed from Denny to Denney and Hayes may have dropped the E. Her husband John Hays was a leading farmer of Grayson County, VA. He soldhis property and removed to Lexington, Lafayette County, MO in 1830. Nancy Phillips has her husband's first name as WILLIAM2
