Note* Jeremiah migrated from Patrick County, VA around 1800 along with hisparents. He lived on Little South Fork in Wayne County, KY. He was a member of the Concord Baptist Church. Some sources give his DOB as Oct 8, 1780 His first wife's maiden name may be MORRIS, Sam Hardesty gives her asSally Morris He is buried at the Jeremiah Denney Cemetery, Wayne County, KY. The majority of my material on the family and life of Jeremiah and hisdescendants was obtained from Diana Flynn of nearby Springville, Indiana.Once again, words can not explain the gratitude to the people such asDiana for carrying enough about family history to work at establishingsame for their lines and then being willing to share with others so as toleave trails for future researchers. There may be a problem with the children of Jeremiah being attached tothe correct mother. The only current one is with Jerusha/Jarrisha, herDOB was a considerable time before Jeremiah and Susan New were married, however there is a Vicki Griffis on the internet that claims she is adescendant of Jerusha and that Susan New was Jerusha's mother. Other datahas her as a child of Rachel Holt but Rachael would have been 57 yearsold when Jerusha was born! This area of Wayne County, KY was heavily influenced by Denneys, Dodson &Burnettes, the area took on the names of these people such as DenneyVillage (Denney Gap), Denney Road, Denney Creek, Denney Hollow, DodsonRoad, Dodson Hollow, and Burnett Road. The Post Office at the Village of Denney's Gap was founded by Jeremiah'sson Dupee Denney ADDITIONALDATA ON CHILDREN John Dee Denny and his wife Elizabeth are buried at the Old Thomas DodsonCemetery on Rolly Road, Wayne County, KY.2
