| Note* | "THIRD GENERATION (12) Rob. 1. Rob 2 John and Bethia (Fowler) Bloomer. Their names are mentioned when their son William joined the Society of Friends and this is the only official record found to bear their names. John was of Rye and later Newburgh, NY. John's birth and death dates are unknown. He is mentioned in Rye from 1735 to 1740 and was justice of the peace in 1746. It is said that he and his wife are buried at Marlboro, NY., just above Newburgh. He married Berthia Fowler daughter of John and Mary (Tatum) Fowler. The Fowler line has been traced to the eleventh century and is on file at the LDS Gen. Lib. SLC., Utah. In Rivington's N.Y. newspaper excerpts p. 87. James Fowler, late of Precinct of New Marlborough, Ulster Co., boatman and farmer, and absconding debtor. Gilbert Bloomer and Thomas Robinson, both of Rye, and Joseph Bloomer, of the Precinct of New Marlborough, have been appointed trustees of Fowler's estate (22 Sep 1774) which establish the Bloomer and Fowler relationship.
