| Note* | Mrs. Ursula Cook was born in Indiana November 2, 1828. She died in Lake City, Iowa, July 23, 1919. At the time of her death she was ninety years, eight months and three weeks old. Her parents were Peyton and Hannah Wilson. There were eight children in the family, two boys and six girls and she was the fifth child in the family. In the year 1836 the family came to Iowa, when it was still a part of the territory of Wisconsin. They settled in Henry county not far from Mt. Pleasant. In those early days there were many Indians in the county. When she was twenty years old she was married to Levi Cook, at Salem in Henry County. They were married in the Quaker church and by the Quaker ceremony. In 1865 they left Henry County and went to Madison County. In the year 1869 they came to Calhoun county, finally moving to Lake City. They were the parents of ten children, four of whom are living. They are Mrs. Deborah Harshbarger of this city; V.W. Cook of Ft. Dodge; F.M. Cook of North Dakota and William Cook of Colorado. Those who have passed away are Peyton, Della and Phoebe who died in childhood and Mrs. Emma Gellis, E.F. Cook and Mrs. Elizabeth Cooper. Mrs. Cook joined the United Brethren church a good many years ago but after coming to town attended the Christian church. Hers was a life long in years and wonderful in the progress and development of which she has been a participant and witness. She leaves four living children, sixteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and four great great grand children besides many other relatives and a host of friends to mourn her death. The funeral service was held at the home of her daughter, Mrs.Harshbarger, Friday afternoon, July 25.
