Solomon Hiestand, an old citizen of Alma Township died last Saturday night and was buried Sunday.
Died at his residence in Summit Prarie July 26, 1885. Solomon Hiestand, Aged 71 years, 10 months and 9 days.
Mr. Hiestand was one among the oldest settlers of Marion County was born in Fairfield County, Ohio on September 17, 1813. He was left a fatherless boy when quite young and learned the trade of house and barn framing near Tiffin Ohio. Removed to Marion County, Illinois in the month of May 1840. Bought a fram married Martha Pruett, September 2, 1841 and lived at the same place until the day of his death. Mr. Hiestand has been in bad health for a long time, and growing weaker day by day, has frequently said he was ready and willing to go at the calling of the good master."

Solomon Heistand is dead and died in 1885 and his wife Martha Heistiand died 1891 they was the parents of eleven children all of whome are living except one Virginia Heistand who died in 1881 all of the living children are married but one George W. Heistand
Benjamine Heistand his wife Georgia Maze they have six children Martha, Lucy, Laura, Irene, and the other two I dont know their names their address is Hoosier Kansas.
