| Birth* | circa 1848 | MO, Shows up in 1850 census with a neighbor family - according to the 1860 census she would be 1 or 2. But it would seem strange for Mary to name a first born girl after a previous wife. Given age of 2 in Sept. 1850 census and Dec. 1849 marriage to new wife, seems likely to be daughter of first wife. Although there is no shred of proof, is it possible that Armilda the mother died in labor and the child was sent out of the household to be cared for?1 |
