Note* The 1820 Preble County, Ohio census finds the family living a dozen houses from Sarah's father Lazarus Denney. Males: 1<10 and 1=27-45.These would be Jonathan, age 5, Nathan's son by his first wife Deborah and Nathan age 28. Females: 2<10, 1=16-26, 1=27-45 and 1=45+. These would be Martha age 3, Nathan's daughter by his first wife, Elizabeth age 10m,Nathan's wife Sarah (Denney) age 22 and an unknown older female, most likely Nathan's mother, Martha (Hawkins) Cook. The 1850 Henry County, Iowa census shows the family as Nathan, wife Sarahand children Eli age 25, Amos age 20, Henry age 18, Obadiah age 16,Louisa age 14, and Elihu age 11. There was also a Jonathan Bond age 22,born TN living with them. Nathan had $8000 of real estate at that time. Nathan, his wife Sarah and children William, Eli, Susanna, Isaac, Hannah, Charity, Amos, Henry, Obadiah, Louise and Elihu were granted a certificate from the Elks MM in Ohio to the Salem MM in Henry County, Iowa on June 15, 1839. On Sep 14, 1849, Nathan sold land in the NE 1/4, NW 1/4, Sec. 8. T70, R7to his son-in-law Henry Lamm. Nathan bought land in the SW 1/4 of Sec. 8, T70, R7 from his brother Elion Sep 4, 1854. On the same day, Nathan and Sarah sold land in the S 1/2,SW 1/4, Sec. 8, T70, R7 to his brother-in-law John Spray.
