Religion Quaker. Nicholas was chosen as overseer for Curles Meeting of Friends, Henrico, later of White Oak Swamp meeting, which met in his home.1 
Note Received Land Grant on the James River. In the Patent Book #9, p. 436, isnoted as being "along ye north bank of James River and on ye west side of ye Four Mile Creek" - - about three miles below Dutch Gap, in the vicinity of Farrar Island.1
