Note* The Grubb family, or Grubbe as it was originally spelled, is of Danish origin, where the Grubbes were very closely connected with the royal family and were very influential during the reigns of Christian IV and Frederick III of Denmark. A Henry Grubbe lived in Hertfordshire, England, where in 1506 he married Joan Radcliffe.1
