1906: Obituary: LUCY SLOANE DAINES:
Lucy Sloane Daines - Former Athens County Woman Passes Away - Word has been received here of the death this morning of Mrs. Lucy Sloane Daines wife of
Jack Daines in a hospital in Oklahoma, where they are now living. It is
the intention to take the body to Manhattan, Kansas for burial as that city
was their home until recently. Mrs. Daines was the sister of W.E. (William
Edwin) Lefavor of Carpenter Street and her husband is well known throughout
the County. He is the brother of Sam Daines of Race Street and his father
is a well known county man residing near Morestown. (Athens Paper dated
March 1, 1906)
