Emma was impossible! She could and did stand up on a horeses back and ride it at a gallop around a field. She could and did go barefooted when she was entirely too old for such nonsense. She never had but one child Eugene Sanborne, who instead of becoming a delinquent as his in-laws expected became a successful Chicago businessman and a good Christian. Grandfather Sloane left his youngest grandson Eugene $ 500 when he died...
