Note* Katherine says:"Jane Sloan who was my gr, gr, gr, grandmother, as the wife of Calvin Parcus (Parkhurst?) DAINS. (War of 1812 soldier from Meigs Co, OH) Her name, Jane SLOAN, and their marriage date (3 July 1815) was listed on his pension application. I have her death certificate from Athens County, Lodi Twp. OH , stating she was born in PA. and was 81 Yrs, 3 mths, 25 days at the time of her death 11 Dec 1875. Making her born 16 Aug 1794. She and Calvin are buried at Pratts Fork Cemetery, literally a "stone's throw" north of the Athens/Meigs County line. In adjoining plot are buried a John and Deborah Sloan. I had thought originally that the John Sloan was my Jane's father, However the dates did not allow for that and now believe he was most probably her brother. I also think their father and mother are Joseph and Rachel SLOAN....... I think that the Joseph who purchased and sold the land (above ) was most probably the father of my Jane and the John Sloan in the Pratts Fork Cemetery"
